The gates opened at 6am and the first of over 200 cars were welcomed into the display area for the Show'N'Sine.  There was a very strong turn out of Ford vehicles in repsonse to adopting Ford as the featured Marque this year.  199 vehicles enterd in judging for Top 15 vehicles & Best Ford car.  Trophies were also awared for Most original, Encouragement and the Snap-On Tools award.  The Judges had a big task due to the large number, types and quality of cars on display this year. A full list of award winners can be found below.

There were about 40 motorcycles on display at one point during the day when riders attending a rally held by the Clarence Valley Historic and Enthusiasts Motor Cycle Club dropped by for a visit.

Loving Life FM103.1 broadcast all day from Motorfest 24 with inteviews and announcements to keep the crowd and the Clarence Valley informed of the days activities.  The "Memphis Movers" provided mobile entertainment for the day providing great music and fun around the display vehicles for the large crowd (est 4,500) that enjoyed the day, including many families with young children.  This year Motorfest added a Jumping Castle, Stationary Engine display and model aeroplane display to provide additional activites and entertainment for the families.  In addition, the Grafton SES demonstrated crash recovery and the City Rural Fire Brigade provided demonstations and activities to promote fire awareness.  Transport for NSW provided demonstrations for cyclist and motorvehicle interaction which also entertained and educated attendees.

There was plenty of food and drink available throughout the day provided by hard working GVMVC volunteers in our Club canteeen, food vans, coffee vans as well as icecream vans.  The Markets were also well attended with a constant crowd passing though the stalls throughout the day.

The presentation of trophies was by Nathan Benn from our major sponsor Bennys Grafton Smash Repairs.

At the close of the day GVMVC was pleased to present a cheque for $2,000 to the Wespac Rescue Helicopter Service from proceeds of Motorfest 24 in recognition of this great community service.

To sum up, Grafton Motorfest 24 was an outstanding success thanks to GVMVC volunteers, our sponsors and contributors and the large crowd that joined us to celebrate classic and historic motoring in the Clarence Valley.
